Childs' Play

Lots of activities to entertain your children in a safe area.

Special thanks to the Beartown Bikers who helped with the raffle, the bbq and ran the tombola, for Jeff for acting as auctioneer, to everyone who so generously donated prizes and items for the auction, to Al and Stanna for the entertainment and to our staff for working hard.

beer festival

To be held in the Marquee and in the Pub.

On the Saturday, BEARTOWN BIKERS will be holding a Motorbike Show, with a LIVE BAND in the evening.

The festival continues on Sunday - if we haven't run out of beer! - with MACCLESFIELD SILK BRASS BAND playing in the afternoon.

menu imageThe arrival of our new chef, Josh, has meant we can extend the Food Service times - see foot of page.

He will be keeping on the old favourite dishes, but has lots of his own too.

For those who need a gluten-free diet, he has introduced gluten-free beef & vegetarian lasagnes to our extensive range of gluten-free options.

    The Pub

A picturesque public house set just off the main road in the village of Buglawton about 1 mile away from the Market town of Congleton.

The Church house serves traditional pub food ( See below for food service times ), which you can enjoy indoors or 'al fresco' in the garden. The bar has a wide selection of products including our real ales. We are well known locally for our charity work, including fêtes, displays and events. We are also home to many clubs and societies from the Beartown bikers to the Tempus Metal detecting & Archaeology club.

For those wishing to stay the night there is a caravan site belonging to the pub. Please call for availability.

If the weather is fine there are the award winning gardens for you to enjoy.

    Buglawton bear

The gardens are also home to the Buglawton Bear, an impressive bear carved by the European chainsaw carving champion.

The Church House Inn is one of Robinsons Brewery's fire01premiere public houses. It is a sister pub to the Bleeding Wolf and the Legs O Man and all had thatched roofs originally, but only the Bleeding Wolf still has one. The Church House roof has suffered numerous fires, the last time in 1950. Since then it has had a standard roof construction.
